Let's Grow! Numurkah, Katunga and Strathmerton Corridor Plan

The Numurkah, Katunga, and Strathmerton Growth Corridor is one of Victoria's leading agricultural areas, and it's ready to grow!

The Corridor:

  • Supplies state, national and international households with high quality food, mainly fruit, vegetables and dairy produce.
  • Situated in a transport sweet spot, enabling the Corridor's produce to reach markets across Australia's eastern seaboard within a 24-hour road trip.

Moira Shire has developed a draft Growth Corridor Plan for the Numurkah, Katunga, and Strathmerton Corridor that aims to support expansion of key industries, grow the Corridor's housing, facilitate local job growth and attract investment.

This plan is a proactive step to ensure the Corridor continues to thrive, economically, socially, and environmentally.

Review of the draft Numurkah, Katunga, Strathmerton, Growth Corridor is now available until Wednesday 29 October.

Community Drop-In Sessions
On Monday 28 October, Moira Shire council engaged directly with residents by hosting drop-in sessions in Numurkah, Katunga, and Strathmerton. These sessions provided an opportunity for community members to discuss their vision and provide valuable feedback on the Growth Corridor Plan.

The engagement was supported by the Let’s Grow Discussion Paper which canvassed land development and infrastructure initiatives to promote the Corridor as an affordable, liveable, and business growth destination.
