A substituted full day public holiday has been in place for the Numurkah Agricultural Show for the past 14 years, instead of the Melbourne Cup public holiday.
Council has received a request to gazette a public holiday for the Agricultural Show on Wednesday 22 October 2025. Ahead of any decision, we're consulting with the community to understand whether this arrangement still reflects the needs and preferences of the community.
We want to hear from as many community members as possible to understand the full range of experiences and views on the proposed public holiday date.
Consultation will close on Friday 26 June 2025.
Council will carefully consider all feedback before making a recommendation for the 2025 public holiday.
