Cobram Local Safety Forum Session

11 April 2025

The first Local Safety Forum in Cobram, held on Tuesday, 25 March, brought together community members, Victoria Police, and Moira Shire Council to discuss key safety issues.

The forum focused on crime prevention, road safety, and community wellbeing, with Inspector Ash Mason and Senior Sergeant Nathan Ractliffe providing insights.

A key discussion point was the community’s strong desire for a 24-hour police station in Cobram.
Victoria Police and Council advocate for this need, but challenges include funding and station resourcing. Community members were encouraged to continue lobbying for this vital service.
Other topics raised included e-scooter misuse, unsafe driving, and road safety concerns. Victoria Police urged residents to report reckless behaviour to Crime Stoppers as video and photographic evidence can help investigations.
