Future use of the former Yarrawonga Primary School Site

The former Yarrawonga Primary School is a unique and historic community asset, featuring heritage buildings, a former courthouse, and World War I memorial trees. Unused since 2018, Council is now exploring how it could be brought back to life for the benefit of the community.

We are running a two-stage consultation to identify community groups and organisations who could see themselves using the site in the future.

Stage 1: Early Registration of Interest. This simple, non-binding step is about understanding who is out there—local groups, service providers, or organisations that could activate the site for community benefit and potentially contribute financially to its restoration.

Your input will help shape the next stage, where a formal Expression of Interest process will gather detailed proposals and investment options.

  • Stage 1: Register your Interest

    We're seeking registrations from the community to help Council gauge the level of interest in using the site for community purposes.

  • Stage 2: Formal Expression of Interest

    Following the registration period, Council will release a formal expression of interest process for detailed proposals. Council may consider a range of uses for the site, as long as it generally supports the principle and focus of retaining the site for community purposes.

Stage 1 was open until 22 August 2025. Registering your interest is non-binding and simply helps Council identify potential users before moving to the next stage of the consultation.

Council is collecting the information contained in this form to help Council understand the level of community interest to use the former Yarrawonga Primary School site.

Your responses will be used by Council staff to understand the level of interest in the site. Your contact details will will be used to contact you about your interest and inform you when the formal Expression of Interest process opens.
